17 of 52 Miss Cue

Friday night week #17 of the 2011 year and tonight it's the miss cue... where exactly is the miss cue ... well when I was growing up it was the royal bank on mountain , and then I think it was a gym and now a pool pub.  There is about 8- 10 tables half of them you can play for a buck a game while the rest of the tables can be played for $5.75 an hour.

Nat and I went there about 830 called Heather , she met us for a game of stick (how she calls it) . This pub is basically like broken cue or a the right spot that used to be on orange lane. Everything about this was a a reminder of that, really dark no all window covered with black felt coverings all the same without the smoking inside of course.

The bartender recommended draft on tap , I went for a Coors light bottle and Natalie passed . Overall if you like shooting pool , pretty ok place , it's full of regular customers .

I don't think I will go back since I prefer loud music and more upbeat environment 1/3 for me... next stop 1755....

16 of 52 Navigators

After a week of getting actually getting snow in April , and being the eve before the first stat holiday in 2011 , we decided to switch the blog to Thursday , after a crazy week ... the beer requirement was urgent.

This weeks mission brought us to Navigators , its a small pub within Robinson court area and something tells me I have been there before... although surprisingly I don't remember.... the entrance is by gate and it has a good size patio which would have been awesome , except , it's April and oh yeah , its snowing... again .

We headed to the pub around 10pm , some of my other friends decided to hook up with us not planned , and you know that usually means an event is on the horizon ...

The waitress was a super cutie and she suggested large or small beer, obviously I had a large moosehead and Nat went to a new found favorite ..porn star.

The crowd was made up of a variety , from a super dressed down chillin look to prom queen.I liked this place  , the company that I was with probably helped , if you are looking for a good place for beer and good conversation with great friends this is a good one.

3/3

15 of 52 Moncton Ale House

Tonight the Moncton Ale House on tap. They just moved to their new location, which is basically right beside the old place on Main Street at the corner of Robinson Court.
My girl Heather decided to join Mel, Nat and myself for a drink sometimes after a shitty week you just want to be with girls who can listen and not judge… each one of us I think had one of those weeks.
Got to the pub around 9 , it’s actually a lot smaller than I thought , probably could comfortably sit about 20-30 people max and then you would feel a little too close for comfort to your neighbour .
The waitress was great she came over and gave us the specials without us asking , out choices of specials included , pitcher for 5$ and change , double rye for 5$ and change or Jägerbomb which we had no idea what is was , except for Mel , who explained it’s a shot within Red bull. We quickly made our choice; I had a Rye & OJ, Nat Vodka & Cranberry, Melanie a sling and Heather stuck with a Stella.

The place was good, I enjoyed the company, it’s a place I would go to after work for drinks more so than a night out. 2/3 for me

14 of 52 End zone

Well for those who don't know where this pub is , it directly across the street from Deluxe on Mountain Road, I think it used to be under another name , and it has sports events like pay per view boxing , wrestling and so on.

We got to the bar expecting based on what I had been hearing all week to walk into a real dive , but it was actually pretty clean , a pool table , some gambling machines , and tables. It didn't really seem that bad, we got there at 930 , sat at the bar and he recommended Coors light based on what he drinks. We both agreed and so Coors was on tap for us. No dive in my books....

The people there seemed like regulars everyone one knew each other so .. we kind of looked like the people that didn't belong , until a random stranger bought us a round... NICE free beer is always nice.

We had our beers and we were off , this type of place would be OK for an after work gathering of Friday night beers with the gang , but I don't think I have plans to return, not unless someone actually requested it.

1.5 out of 3 for me...

13 of 52 City Grill

Tonight City Grill, this is where the old boomerang was or if you aren’t familiar with boomerangs, its close the Saturday farmers market or right across the street from the O2 dance bar.
Nat and I were super sick tonight but put our big girl panties on and stuck it out for the resolution to stay true, it was about 530ish when we went.
Stormy April 1 snow fall warning in effect so the restaurant (more than pub in my opinion) was empty , but the inside was pretty nice . If you were going out for a special occasion this would be a nice place to go.
Our waitress came late, she was in a meeting to learn about the specials of the night and when she did come she was able to give us a recommendation of a strawberry daiquiri. I wasn’t feeling the love and since it’s lent season and knowing that I only eat fish Friday’s I went with white wine and Nat decided to go with a cosmopolitan .. her first one .. Too bad her taste buds weren’t working.
We did have a great meal, and would go back for supper rather than drinks.
2/3 for me .. next stop the end zone… can’t wait…
