51 of 52 Wine Expo

Each year at this time , there is a wine expo at the coliseum. This brings about 100+ booths of food , wines for trying. This weekend there are 6 tasting events and the tickets are 55$. There are even bus services available to bring you downtown after the 3 hour show if you want to continue your night.

It's atmosphere is pretty nice , and the people wore from dress coats and jeans to prom dresses . As you enter you get a catalog describing each booth , the wine/food that they are offering and you get a glass .  Then the tour begins. I am a white Riesling drinker , but my girls Dine and Heather were more into red as was Gates.

This show was fabulous , and from what I understand there is a spirits show in Fredericton and a Beer event in the spring .

This was awesome , can't wait to go again. 3/3

50 of 52 Laundromat

Can't wait to be done this blog... but tonight Heather and I decided to check out the Laundromat. This place is on St George it's actually labelled expresso bar and has got the cheapest Stella in town. YUM!!

The inside has a cozy retro feel alot of choices for some coffee , expresso or enjoy a unknown beer that the owner from what I understands brings in from Quebec, nothing local here. They also has salted cheese... enough said .. go and try it for yourself.

It's a great place for chatting with close friend , lounging around.. not recommended for an all out party place..

3/3 with the right people

49 of 52 Barnyard BBQ

On Mill road this place is found and it's actually where the pump house brews their beer. Nat and I got there about 7ish and we were starving... so eating is on the menu tonight. This place is small so it would probably sit about 30 ppl max but the food is delicious. I had "the burger that ate Moncton" , its a hamburger with cheese , bacon , BBQ pulled pork , lettuce and tomato.. yummy and yes.. the next day I did two hours of classes at the YMCA to work that bad boy off.

For Beer Nat had the famous blueberry ale , I went with a bud light... not a fan of floatees in the drink... One weird part about this place is the parking is in the back and you have to walk a bit to get inside.. compared to most places...

Overall love this place to eat , too small to actually drink all night..

48 of 52 Casino - Travis Tritt

Oh my , how I can't wait to get to 52 of these things , I have only a few more and then I have actually got to 52 beers at different venues. That ways way harder than I thought...

Last night we went to the Travis Tritt concert at the casino and it was awesome . I had alot of Alpine and Nat has a dew moosehead draft at 5$ per ... the music was great the company was great , would go to a concert there anytime with pretty much anyone.

3 out of 3 , think I might go to the casino again tonight :)

47 of 52 Made In Canada AKA MIC

Sept 30th - Mel and I are at MIC , this was the old Don Cherry's food /sports bar chain , this is supposed to be all Canadian . It can be found in Dieppe on Champlain Street.

All of the posters on the wall are Canadian stars and the food is all MIC.. the waitress recommended happy hour 3.99 beer so both Mel and I jumped on that.  We ended up eating supper there because to be honest , this really isn't a bar.. in my opinion its a restaurant , actually more of a family restaurant .. maybe we went to early ...but I don't think I would come here to simply drink...even though the food is delicious...

If you are looking to gather with friends for a bite and a beer this is a good one , if you are looking for a night out with several "pops" go somewhere else

46 of 52 Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Revue

September 29th - Mel , Nat and I are heading to the Pussycat dolls show at the casino tonight.
The casino is making its way on this blog several times , there is just so much going on, and will likely make another appearance especially with Bars closing before I get to them.

I had Moosehead , so did both my sisters and this show was fabulous , it featured Carmen Electra . It was like watching a 1940s flirty black and white movie . Fantastic , I love going to the casino .. 3 out of 3 for me tonight.

45 of 52 Montana's

Well after a long week and a high school game , BHMS versus Moncton high all we wanted was a beer.

So this week we went to Montana's , love the food here and the beer is cold.  We usually eat at the bar but this time we went to the restaurant side and it was super slow... I had a stella so did Nat . The bar side is way better so my recommedation is get a beer in the bar.

44 of 52 Plan B

Plan B on St George is my girl Heather's top spot , if you love live music you will adore this place.

There is all kinds of beer , drinks , coffees and they know serve lunch and breakfast..

Here is the site ...

43 of 52 IOOB

So someone last night told me and Heather that this stands for the International Order of Old Bastards. This pub from what the guy was telling us is that you can get a membership but you don't need one to get in ... soooooo... why would you get one ? Anyhoot , the actual IOOB is a motorcycle club and the guy we were talking to well it would surprise me that he would be into that. Another person told me this actually is for 100 Beers ... ? I actually have no idea what this bar represents with the exception that it does offer a membership for a fee , but its not required.

The pub is big and Friday nights it karaoke , it only has a few kinds of beer , so I went with a moosehead green while Heather got a Moosehead Ale.

Good spot but full of people that were way to young for me... but nice enough for a beer..

Down on Robinson ...

42 of 52 Mexicali Rosas

This is a great place for nachos & drinks with friends, there is happy hour until 6:30 unfortunately for me and Nat we only got there at 6:35 and there is no cheating to get cheap margaritas.
The waitress told us a few drinks that sounded good , Nat had a cactus something which was lemonade , cranberry and vodka, I had a strawberry Daiquiri , we both had some chicken nachos and were off.
This place at 630 is better when it's warm out and you can see out on the patio and people watch , but in September it's fall way too chilly to be out , and the inside really looks more like a family restaurant than a drinking place.. I bet if we would have come in later it would have been better. It's currently undergoing renovations so , if you don't mind sitting in a construction zone, don't go here until it's done unless you get to eat outside.

41 of 52 Bomber's Robinson Court

Who would have thought I am likely going to run out of bars then make it to 52 .. and that's with taking a few blogs out of Province....

It's Friday , we are celebrating freedom , its a good day .. except we are on route to Bombers.. I have been there before for Karaoke with my girls Beena , Heather and Dine .. but tonight .. they had a welcome first year law students meet and greet... yep what a bunch of promising lawyers... YIKES..

The pub smelled like a Jaggerbomb ... because oh yeah all of the 1st years are standing in a puddle of it , and not even noticing... Nat and I go around the mess make it to the bar (after two attempts of trying to get over the stench ) and we both grab a Stella (1st one skunky ... man those light bottles are tricky) ... and head out to the patio.

Robinson court is where we are outside and Bombers patio is basically facing Rouge on one side, VIE on the other and yep .. all are competing for the air to hear there music.. what a cluster of noise... and don't forget all people outside are smoking cigs and cigars... and the lungs are smoking with them...

I think if you are at bombers in the winter , with a gang of friends you are all good .. but this Friday it sucked.

2/3 for me... on the next

40 of 52 Salty Dog Pub

Yep on West main you can find this pub, I think it actually might be the smallest pub I have even been in.

It's so small that you feel like you are in one big circle sharing a conversation , the people were super friendly , but Nat and I really just stared at each other , without talking just so that no one would listed to us.

I had a Coors light , pretty quick since I enjoy personal space and this place there isn't any chance of that. They actually have karaoke and I can't imagine how on earth that would work considering we were already cramped.

If you like closed quarters .. this is the place for you ..myself that was a one and only stop.. I think

39 of 52 Dog house

This dog house is on McLaughlin right across (pretty much ) MacArthur's flowers. This pub is a place in which you can bring your dogs in , the owner does and there is a dog bed right at the door. The owner of this place actually owns the Iceberg's and Miss Cue.

Melissa and I went and after all of the folks telling me how crappy this place would be. I was pleasantly surprised that it's clean the waitress was super and I would actually go back..

38 of 52 Esquire

Well... right after BP we went to Esquire.. this is on Mountain road just past the Papa John's pizza at West Lane lights , directly besides the consignment store.... YEP , this is the worst one so far... Some guys were yelping at us when we got out of the car... wonderful as always but my sister Mel said she hung out here all kinds and it was fine ..

We had no recommendation , I had a bud light so did Mel while Nat and Melis were too full from their apple crisp ...
1/3 for me.. unless I have to ... I won't be returning..

37 of 52 Boston Pizza

It's Tuesday night and of course I am working late ... my sisters (all but one) decide to go blogging. since I am starving , I figure we might at well start with a place I can grab a bite.. so I look down the list and BP it is.. of Boston Pizza if you hate acronyms.

BP is on Mountain Road in the Zellers parking lot and has a full restaurant and bar. The bar is used to showcase sporting events and is usually a great place to eat. My sisters are actually in love with the apple crisp they have here and can't say no ever....

This is a great place , I would and do come here often..for family or friend events anytime...

This place is faboulous , great drinks , great food. I come to this place quite often it's a nice atmosphere clean and as I mentioned good eatin...

My sister is down from England this week and so she decided to help me stick to my resolution ..

The waitress recommended a Daquiri which is what Melissa had and me and Nat had a Stella... best beer on the planet .. if it isn't skunky ..

Keg anytime for me ... 3/3

34 of 52 Sports Rock /Coasters

Well..the plan was to go to Plan B tonight but there was a $10 cover because of the band and ...well paying 10$ for a beer blog isn't really part this blog unless I knew the band .. so off we go and swapped it out for Sports Rock.

Sports Rock has two sides, the first is more of a family restaurant atmosphere , they are open all night so after the club if you are looking to pig out.. there is a good place, been there lots and their poutine is awesome at four in the am. The other side is a newer chain called coasters, they had one at Saxbys in Riverview and another on Elmwood drive. It's basically a mini casino but in this one it has virtual sports , which was wicked for a buck you got to play a round of Hockey , Baseball , Soccer or Football. I love sports so we were all about this. Mel , Nat and I each played a round of Football and Soccer.

The bartender offered up as recommendation a porn start and purple haze , I went for a Stella , man that beer is good . Nat had a vodka and cranberry and Mel had a bud light.

We had so much fun with that machine what a hoot , I would go to do that anytime.

3/3 for me...

30-33 of 52 George Street

This week I was sent to Newfoundland to work and complete some training and funny thing , this is the same week of the George Street Festival and Great Big Sea was kicking it off so what a better place to blog.

http://www.georgestreetlive.ca/events/george-street-festival/

If you have never been to St-John's you must try and get there at least once, it's beautiful and after a week you actually might understand what the locals are talking about..."by"

If you don't know or haven't ever heard of George St, it's basically one street with nothing but pubs and you have the opportunity to be "screeched in" as a local Newfoundlander all you need to do is :
1) drink screech
2) sing the proud to be a Newfoundlander song
3) kiss ...basically make out with a cod

I completed 3 blogs this week all on George Street , if you get my drift , I think I am still hungover to be honest with you.

The first place was at a Green sleeves , two of my colleagues joined my friend Shelley and I . We had some delicious Seafood and sat on a deck listening to a bad singer trying to be the next Keith Urban .. sorry about your luck pal.. he sucked. We asked the waitress and funny even over in Newfoundland , the girl had zero opinion .. so .. Stella is was.

Two nights later Shelley and I made our way to Yellow Belly Brewery and this place was AWESOME, it had great food , jammed packed and the bartender offered us up some homemade brew as a suggestion and I ended up with a pale ale and my girl Shelley had a Red Ale, then a Pale Ale , then a glass of Merlot... needless to say we were there a bit.

The next night was the cream of the crop , we started at a BBQ and then off to George Street where we ended up at Green sleeves again but this time accompanied by the Fantastic music of great big see.  This Festival is basically 4 nights of concerts and once you get through the gates you have access to all the bars on the street , there is music a bunch of people once of the best times ever.

It's well worth the trip to the ROCK ... what are you at?

3 out of 3 , next stop plan B....

29 of 52 Nita's Bar and Grill

This pub is on Mountain Road right after the Gorge Road lights, it's connected to a home cooking dinner.

the bartender actually didn't drink and offered zero opinion so bud light for me , Nat had a Coors light.

Wowza , this bar is the biggest frenzy of Karaoke I have ever seen in my life. We (Nat and I ) were almost rejects simply because of our lack of "love" for the new fad.

it's 10pm and it is time to sign at this club , packed to sing , whether your are the best or worst on the planet people will sing with you and clap when you are done.

my mom and dad decided to join in the fun and well I tried so hard to get my mom up , without any luck .

this will likely be the last time I go there , not because it was bad , but too much singing (bad singing) for my ears

1/3 here's to hoping next week's bar is not hosting karaoke....

28 of 52 Old Cosmo

The old Cosmo is on tonight , swapped out the Dog House pub for this one when we found out that the Thirsty Rangers were planning.

http://www.reverbnation.com/thirstyrangers

This pub is on Main street, we have been at this club tons of times in our lives it was the place growing up. It is dance bar upstairs and a nice basement where bands hand a great stage to plan for a good size crowd.

We got there at 11pm and the band was on a break , we asked the bartender what he recommended and to no surprise , no opinion as usual .. weird, you would think bartenders would actually offer something.

I ended up with a Bud light and Nat cranberry and vodka, grabbed a seat and waiting for the band. There were a lot of of our friends that we haven't seen in a while like my great friend Sean , Tracey M, and of course the girls we were meeting , Karen and Jill.

Rating 2/3 this place is aways great where there is a good band and good friends..

27 of 52 Bo Diddley's Lounge

Yep ,,, that really is the name of the bar, it can be found on Collishaw street and is actually attached to a garage which explains why all the cars are parked in the lot all day. I actually thought is was really that busy all the time ...NOPE ...

Anyway around 10:30 we get there and there is about 10 people and Karaoke going on .. AWESOME ...

All of the people are frequent flyer's and we of course stick out like a sore thumb .. the waitress has no opinion of what we should have so I have a bud light and Nat has a Coors. The lines up for Karaoke is never ending even if there are few involved, in fact it was like live idol in front of our faces....

The bad thing was the kind of music that the folks were looking to sign was more along the lines of Pasty Cline ...yep without missing a howl..

When I think about it the atmosphere and people around really reminded me of being at a wedding reception more than a bar ..

So if you are into the scene of showing off your great voice to old school country Friday night's at BoD's is the place for you . I am not a big fan of signing tunes off a screen and I am even less of a fan of depressing music .. So for me , this will be my last time at this place especially on Friday..
