Well its Saturday night , blog pushed out as a result of a terrible flu that I have had over the last week. Still not up to par and have a pretty bad fever tonight but as long as I steer clear of touching anyone I should be ok... off to St James Gate.
We got there and it was very dark only candles lit in order to participate in the earth day celebration of having the lights off for one hour. Nice to see a bar was taking part..ahhh the gate.. what can I say , the exterior is inviting , the summertime has a nice big patio and the inside dark , romantic, intense , just calling for out for you to come in for some good times.
It was about 930 and the pub was pretty busy , we grabbed a table quickly and a waitress came by right away , we asked her recommendation , she recommended red wine.. Nat was all over that, but folks who know me and that I am not a wine drinker but since she recommended it......I accepted her in an instant a white Riesling , Nat had red .. it would only be one glass after all .. how much trouble does one get in with one tiny glass...
Well ... we ended up having an appetizer each , Nat went with spinach and artichoke dip, I went with Bruschetta... mine was yummy , Nat's was fine but I don't think that will be ordered twice. The wine came , delicious , the people packed in .. and funny when I did a scan of what kind of people were in the pub.. it was a nice blend of professionals of all market industries and I mean all market industries. We actually ended up meeting a couple guys from out of town - Woodstock/Florenceville area here on business and they actually bought us a B52 shot and a glass of wine. We ended up sitting with them for a few hours while listening to a band who were not bad , I think my parents would have loved them...moody blues type songs.
Overall I love this pub, great atmosphere would go back anytime.. 3/3 for me..
